Curriculum of DFS was scheduled to complete in 3 years and to take a total credit of 42 scu at minimum. These credits are 1) 12 scu including 4 scu (2 courses) of compulsory courses and 8 scu (4 courses) of elective courses from 14 courses available, 2) 30 scu for dissertation consisting of a) Qualification exam (1 scu) and writing proposal and exam (2 scu), b) Research and Presentation of research progress (18 scu), c) Two international publications (4 scu), d) Writing Dissertation and defense (5 scu). The compulsory courses are offered to cover the breadth of food science and to give students knowledge about research methodology. The elective courses offered are based on the expertise and competencies of the lecturers. Students freely choose 4 courses (8 scu) that support their research topic. Most doctoral students already have positions and career as researchers or lecturers in a government research institute (Agricultural Technology Research Centre Ministry of Agricultural; Agricultural Training Centre Ministry of Agricultural) or university lecturer (Food Science and Technology Department, Agricultural Technology). The LO’s of the DFS are addressed to support graduates’ in enhancing professional career as a researcher or a lecturer after they finish their study.
